Review: (seed) Healthy Hand Cream

20 Oct

I’ve always had what I call, “Old Lady Hands,” which means I’m constantly trying new hand creams. I’ve tried so many I can’t even remember all of them. I know I haven’t found one that I really like, and that really does what it says it does. When I saw the opportunity to review a product sample of (seed) Healthy Hand Cream, of course I jumped on it!

Overall Comments:

The first thing I noticed when I got this product was the packaging. I really like it. The colors. The way it feels in my hands. It fits in my purse. Good design. I opted for the “invigorating citrus blend” rather than the “fragrance free” because I like good smells so I was interested to see what it smelled like. It. Smells. Wonderful. It’s not too over-bearing and is strong enough to actually smell. The lotion feels rich and blends in nicely. It’s silky without that greasy, sticky feeling after you put it on. The moisturizing action lasts for a while and my hands do seem softer after a full week of using it twice a day.

Does it do what it says it does?

I was using Neutrogena Norwegian Formula Hand Cream before I got (seed) Healthy Hand Cream. Honestly, I was pretty happy with the Neutrogena product as my old stand-by, until I put this new product on my hands. YES, it actually does “moisturize your hands and keeps them healthy looking, naturally.” It’s made with grape seed oil and Jojoba seed oil and is Paraben-free, dimethicone-free, with no artificial colors or fragrances.

Is the price for what you get fair?

Well, sort of. Right now you can get (seed) Healthy Hand Cream at select Whole Foods Markets or on the SEED Store (via Alice.com). Since they are doing heavy promoting of the product, it’s available for $5.49 for 3.5 fl oz. Actual retail price is somewhere between  $6.99-$7.99. My old stand by, Neutrogena, is available on drugstore.com for $4.49 for 2 oz. At the discount price (seed) Healthy Hand Cream is cheaper per ounce than Neutrogena but, at the retail price it’s more expensive.

Random Chick Rating

GOOD! I think this is a very good product and it actually does what it claims it does. Though it is more expensive, I would buy it again. I’m thinking about trying the body lotion because I’ve been looking for a new one. I would recommend this hand cream to any one who has “Old Lady Hands” and wants a cream that feels decadent and does the job.

Nice review RC. I don’t need any hand cream but will definitely pass it along to my mother-in-law because she is always in search of some decent stuff. I also like the new look of your site here. Pretty sweet.

Very cool! I’m a hand cream nut, too. I must use the stuff like 20 times a day. I currently like “Kiss my Face”, but this sounds good too so I’ll check it out. Thanks! 🙂
